About the Company
SOFtronix started business since 2011 as a software solution provider providing NPI software tools for electronic companies. In 2015, the company began venturing into electronics manufacturing equipment business as part of the road map to provide customers a complete solution in both software and hardware. In 2016, another milestone has been achieved by the company whereby the company began venturing into manufacturing system solution business such as Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Advanced Planning & Scheduling System (APS).

The Founder and Managing Director of SOFtronix
Ts. Dr. Lai Mee Chian
Ts. Dr. Lai Mee Chian is the Founder and Managing Director of SOFtronix. In 2011, he started SOFtronix in Malaysia and expanded the business in several other South East Asia countries including Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.
Dr. Lai has earned his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2000, Master Degree in Technology Management in 2015 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Research (Specialized in Management) in 2022 from University of Technology Malaysia. Upon graduated from university in 2000, he joined a Japanese firm as an R&D engineer. In 2008, before he started his own company, he joined a local software solution provider company where he was a sales and support manager for three years.
Dr. Lai is certified as a Professional Technologist by Malaysia Board of Technologist (MBOT) in 2021. Besides, he is also a committee member of Green Earth Society Malaysia (an environmental NGO), a committee member of Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce Youth Entrepreneur 2022-23 (a non-governmental, non-profit, multi-ethnic and independent business association) and a member of Persatuan Usaha Maju Malaysia (an entrepreneurial non-profit organization).
